Dumpster Fire 2020

$6.00

The year 2020 has been epically horrible. What better way to commemorate it than with a Dumpster Fire 2020 holiday ornament? This design is knit in pieces and sewn together. The year “2020” is duplicate-stitched on the front according to a chart, but I have included charts for all 10 numbers so you can fill in your own personal horrible year. And as much as I love snark, I’m not one to wallow, so this pattern did some good: half of the 2020 proceeds were donated to the Anne Arundel County Food Bank.

Several dyers have created Dumpster Fire 2020 yarn collections!

  • Leading Men Fiber Arts (Solid fingering kit, 20% ($6 from each kit) going to the DeWitt County Friendship Center, which is a safe and fun place for Seniors to gather and socialize. They also help to facilitate the local Meals on Wheels program.)

  • Queen City Yarn (Speckled fingering kit, $5 of each kit going to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina in North Carolina)

  • Black Cat Fibers (Variegated fingering kit)

  • Arkansas Yarn Company (Sparkle fingering kit, 20% ($7.00) of proceeds going to the Malvern/Hot Spring County Boys & Girls Club)

  • Wonderland Yarns and Frabjous Fibers (Solid worsted kit, 20% of proceeds going to Food Connects)

What testers had to say:

  • “Great pattern, well written, easy to follow.”

  • “I loved watching it come together and because of the fact that most of it is sewn to the back, I could be quick and sloppy in sewing the pieces together and sewing in the ends, which was nice.”

  • “Fun way to commemorate this crazy year!”
